Our story · The founder

Four decades in the field

Knowledge that was lived before it became a system.

For more than forty years, Dr. Badoni has worked in applied and participatory research across the Himalaya — identifying medicinal plants where they grow, recording how mountain communities have traditionally used them, and working to conserve rare and endangered species.

This was never laboratory-bound science. It was knowledge built through field observation, farmer-led cultivation, community training and continuous refinement — work that has been acknowledged by institutions including CIMAP, Jawaharlal Nehru University and HNB Garhwal University.

MAKS Herbal grew out of that foundation. Herbs are cultivated by vrikshayurveda methods at the family's plots in the Har ki Doon valley near Kedarkantha, formulations are prepared at Sherwala Top in Uttarkashi, and the work is guided from Dehradun. Each formulation follows one principle: a purposeful Himalayan herb, paired with seabuckthorn.

“Healing is not a product. It is a restoration of nature within you.”
